Wow, this post has about 26K upvotes, it hit the front page. I think there's hope for this generation.
[–]justarandomtrol 16 points17 points18 points (1 child) | Copy Link
Not really, I'm in that sub and saw the post earlier and it is just full of people either saying "man up" or "stop being a pussy" or people saying "yea men have it bad, but there also so privileged and women have it worse"
[–]Multiman2000 1 point2 points3 points (0 children) | Copy Link
I must've seen it later, all of the top comments now seem to be supportive.
[–]froznlolipop 15 points16 points17 points (2 children) | Copy Link
Some girl saw this and made a post titled " I hate being a girl ".
[–]melk8 17 points18 points19 points (1 child) | Copy Link
The only reason that I hate being a girl sometimes is the fact that a lot of people who happen to share the same sex and age as me are radical feminists who love to say “kill all men” and “eat the rich”. :/
[–]froznlolipop 16 points17 points18 points (0 children) | Copy Link
You don't have to share the blame. That's feminist reasoning. If a man 1000 kilometers away from me does something bad that doesn't mean I'm also responsible.
[–]ALTSuzzxingcoh 8 points9 points10 points (5 children) | Copy Link
"Yeah but women have it bad, too"
"It's not a competition, boooooth sides have it bad*
From a european adult male, shut the fuck up. No they don't, yes it is because you make it one, no they don't. Can women and their apologists not have the attention focused on them for just once? This isn't about you.
[–]Dangerous-Respect-53 5 points6 points7 points (0 children) | Copy Link
Lol funny part is when we try to say that, hey gender problems exist for BOTH males and females they call MRA nazis.
[–]pappo4ever -1 points0 points1 point (3 children) | Copy Link
Women actually have it bad. But only older women, you see, they are invisible. When you see all those women in movies and in feminist movements, they are young, under 30yo women. Nobody care for 50-year old women, because for society they have no value.
[–]higgs456 0 points1 point2 points (1 child) | Copy Link
That's true mostly in a sexual sense, and though no one likes being seen as absent from the world of sexuality, older women are valued. Especially these days since they're often managers or something else of importance in their working life. Even without that, everyone who had an at least passable mother loves them infinitely. Grandmothers tend to be greatly appreciated for their aid in child rearing. If they had a successful life, they probably have a husband or another man who loves them.
[–]pappo4ever 0 points1 point2 points (0 children) | Copy Link
A mother or a grandmother live a happy life, but they are vanishing. Don't believe that a career woman have time to have family, most end up alone, miserable and invisible.
[–]MBV-09-C -1 points0 points1 point (0 children) | Copy Link
They could potentially have value still by that age if they have jobs that they spent time on and used that money to invest in their future, they'd only be screwed at 40-50 if they were exclusively getting by on their looks. We're forced to the former by default because most of us aren't considered conventionally attractive enough to coast by on 'sugar-mamas' and develop tunnel vision.
[–]SweatyAdvance 9 points10 points11 points (21 children) | Copy Link
That post reeks of feminist fan fiction, sorry.
[–]lizzyb187[S] 6 points7 points8 points (20 children) | Copy Link
What do you mean by that? The post is talking about the inequalities that men suffer that no one cares about I'm not sure what that has to do with feminism
[–]justarandomtrol 5 points6 points7 points (14 children) | Copy Link
Maybe he means the comments where people were just saying how women have it worse or men are privileged
[–]lizzyb187[S] 2 points3 points4 points (13 children) | Copy Link
He was actually getting a lot of support in the comments
[–]justarandomtrol 4 points5 points6 points (12 children) | Copy Link
Really? I read about 50 non supporting comments and saw a few good ones but not as many as the bad ones
[–]lizzyb187[S] 5 points6 points7 points (7 children) | Copy Link
I think you're seeing what you want to see. It's been massively upvoted and awarded and there are tons of supportive people even girls
[–]MBV-09-C 2 points3 points4 points (1 child) | Copy Link
Except there's like, a lot of negative or dismissive comments mixed in there now, so much so that OP even edited to comment on them and then deleted his account. This didn't age well...
[–]lizzyb187[S] 0 points1 point2 points (0 children) | Copy Link
That makes me very sad I didn't know that
[–]ihavebeenyeetedhelp -1 points0 points1 point (4 children) | Copy Link
Except he also said in another post that men have it worse then women. If you sort by controversial you will see so many redpilled takes, where even the OP agrees upon. Apparantly he wanted to "shoot up his school". If you looked at a few of his comments before he deleted his acount, he sounded super incel-like.
A lot of the problems he brings up are true and valid however.
[–]lizzyb187[S] 1 point2 points3 points (3 children) | Copy Link
People are too quick to use the word incel. He is a child and probably needs a little bit of therapy and better parents.
[–]ihavebeenyeetedhelp -1 points0 points1 point (2 children) | Copy Link
Sure you can say that, but there is no doubt about that he had a few barbaric ideas.
[–]lizzyb187[S] 0 points1 point2 points (1 child) | Copy Link
I agree with you 100%. But when someone's that young it's the parents job to step in and correct those barbaric ideas
[–]ihavebeenyeetedhelp1 point [recovered] | Copy Link
I don't dissagree with you there, but my point is, I don't know whether or not this is a very good example of a post that supports mens rights, since the op was pretty toxic.
[–]NightCroissant 0 points1 point2 points (3 children) | Copy Link
He is homophobic
[–]justarandomtrol 0 points1 point2 points (2 children) | Copy Link
He is? I would check his posts but his account is deleted
[–]NightCroissant 0 points1 point2 points (1 child) | Copy Link
Yeah he got called out for making transphobic and homophobic comments on his own post , he deleted those comments later. He also made a post saying trans men aren't real men and don't deserve to be called men on r/unpopularopinion .
[–]justarandomtrol 0 points1 point2 points (0 children) | Copy Link
Oh ok, yea thats horrible
[–]Eastuss 0 points1 point2 points (4 children) | Copy Link
Sure, but this sounds like an argument point for feminism against patriarchy.
Where the problem is that feminism pushes for us to be less masculine and then punishes us for not being masculine. And offers no solution besides asking us to sabotage ourselves and other men.
[–]lizzyb187[S] 0 points1 point2 points (3 children) | Copy Link
I'm sorry I'm not trying to give you a hard time but I still don't get it because the whole post was talking about what men go through women weren't mentioned at all
[–]Eastuss -1 points0 points1 point (2 children) | Copy Link
You don't seem to be talking in good faith. We keep telling you that those are usual feminism and mensliby arguments and you keep asking where are women mentioned.
[–]lizzyb187[S] 0 points1 point2 points (1 child) | Copy Link
So you have a problem with feminism and men's lib? I'm having a hard time understanding your perspective I don't even see what your point is to be honest I'm not even trying to argue your point because I don't understand your point to begin with
[–]Eastuss 0 points1 point2 points (0 children) | Copy Link
Feminism has always had that argument that men aren't free under the patriarchy, that the patriarchy forces men to be masculine and punishes them otherwise.
But that has always been a marketing argument to make men feel concerned about feminist causes and the empowerment of women. Because in real life, patriarchy's pressure is lesser than women's pressure. When you are bullied by men because you're not masculine enough, you can always find male friends elsewhere, or a male matrix that will accept you. You can always find jobs, you can always have a good life.
But when you're unmasculine to women, that's when shit hits the fan, you have no real alternative but to conform. The real problem that forces men to be what feminism calls "toxic masculinity" is and has always been women. And feminism offers no solution to that, they want men to drop gender roles but offer no solution to fill the gaps. Because their agenda is to have men on their side, not to help men. It's an hypocritical argument.
And then nowadays you might be pressured and bullied for being masculine instead by these same people who pretend to fight for people's freedom.
This post looks like a feminist or menslib fiction of a young man's cry for help because the evil patriarchy hurt his feelings. It gets praised because it is a feminist argument. Whenever men complain online of the other side of the problem they don't get so visible.

A lot of this is good, but the contradiction here is he's running away from exactly what would improve his situation, which is to be more manly. This is a crisis of being able to embrace your masculinity imo. Hopefully he can realize that and stop preventing himself from getting past this crisis. He needed a man to look up to a long time ago to be able to grow into himself, so unfortunately that will make things harder, but he has time.
[–]tatianawoodss -2 points-1 points0 points (0 children) | Copy Link
a perfect example of how the patriarchy negatively affects men as well as women
[–]pappo4ever -2 points-1 points0 points (0 children) | Copy Link
Yes, this is true. I hated it too. I didn't realized girls gan pick from 15 guys but they don't actually like any of them, and they get hit-on until they have about 30, then they are almost invisible. Men get to date girls well into their 60 if they wish to do it. Datin Is actually way worse for women.
