that's exactly how i feel in my relationship--but NOT because he buys me flowers everyday and holds up a boombox playing peter gabriel "in your eyes", but because he is physically protective, stoic, cares where i go what i do what i wear, and cares enough to demand certain things and forbid others--because i know he'd KILL form me, not because i think he'd DIE for me, because he doesn't let me get away with any bullshit, but follows his own rules as well, because i trusted him to lead me and he makes good decisions--

none of this is beta.

you would THINk beta overloving, oversupportive, chivalrous behavior would make women feel like that sentence, but it doesn't. a beta makes a woman feel smothered, pedastalized, kissed up to, forced into a leadership role she doesn't want, UNsafe because she can't trust his leadership and unprotected because she doesn't trust he owns proper violence.

What you have to understand is women have a huge "need to feel protected". This is part of the reason we like alphas so much. Any woman who thinks that she can "take care of herself" has really no concept of just how much more powerful men are than her. And honestly, how would she, in a world where women are not attacked? In a world where women are not ganged up on?

So the only way a woman can really protect herself is to appeal to someone more powerful than herself, in order to do it for her. The more alpha, the more powerful, the better. So the fact that she trusts you is a sign of alphaness. Any man who cowers to a woman is not a man who a women would trust in a fight. Not trusting you would mean you're more beta.

It may upset you to think of yourself as a shield, in the way that a shield is just a tool. But rather than think of it that way, think of it as the shield she chose to protect herself. The one she trusts with her life. But not only that, you're not a shield that "has to" protect her, you're a shield that she's hoping will "willfully" protect her. She will try to appeal to you to the best of her ability to be a shield for her, but when push comes to shove, you have to be the one to decide to step in. Part of the reason she picked you as her shield, is she's putting a tremendous amount of trust in you, that you will indeed to that. But that's up to you.

A redpill relationship does not have to be purely alpha or beta. When I am alone with my SO we are mushy as fuck, but I also respect him as a strong and very masculine man. I am very strong and rather imposing myself (6' and lift weights regularly with my SO), so I don't need a man to be physically imposing to be masculine even though my SO is.

I also very much respect him intellectually, he keeps me on my toes and I keep him on his. We challenge each other to grow and improve both mentally and physically, but what really makes the relationship very redpill to me is that we are protective and supportive of each other in more than just a physical or financial sense. If anyone says something negative about my SO, I defend him immediately and he does the same. Knowing I have someone who will always have my back makes me feel much more secure than just any guy acting alpha.
