Gender stereotypes will make this an uphill battle, convincing people that this woman was capable murdering her husband. Notice how this article is full of images of her working out, providing evidence of her capability to beat her husband to death. I've never noticed muscle shots like these in a domestic violence news, with a a female victim.

This travesty is another example of how victims of domestic violence are often not taken seriously. However while cis-women in many communities will have advocacy groups and social services to assist them, these same groups will often refuse/'not offer' assistance to male and trasn-women victims.

The language used to talk about domestic violence and rape reinforce Toxic feminine stereotype, in that it depicts women as only victims. While this affords female victims additional services, it also reinforces the discrimination of women in the work place, especially in jobs requiring physical strength or seen as authoritative.

The comments are predictable. One after another blames the murder victim for marrying a younger partner who was a boxer. As if his murder was the result of his own choices. Some people will do anything avoid holding a woman accountable.
