Hey Ladies! I'm new to the site but feel as though I've got a lot of RPW traits though i'm not there 100% yet.
Back story: I recently (almost 3 months ago) ended a 3 year relationship with a Beta. We lived together for most of that time. We started having issues when I began to feel like his mother rather than his lover. The sex got boring even though I tried many different things to spice it up. He was not only a beta, he was very inexperienced in relationships and in bed, so his confidence in the bedroom was very low. I did my best to build his confidence and make him feel loved, needed and wanted.
I was there to greet him with a smile, a clean house, and a home cooked meal damn near every night (working a 40+ week too). He worked and went to school, which i also did so I totally know how hard it is. I tried to make his life easier any way I could. I cooked, cleaned, did laundry, even did the yard work when he had a lot of homework. I was there to console him anytime he was upset or angry or had a bad day. I tried to plan fun things for us to do so we didn't get stuck in the monotony of day to day life. I immersed myself in his group of friends, leaving many of mine by the waist side, I tried to include them in many of the things we did. I would always invite them over for dinner or cookouts, etc. I encouraged him to go hang out with the guys. I'd plan things to get out of the house so he'd have alone time. Long story short I did everything I could to be the perfect girlfriend/wife.
Like I said above, our issues started when he made me feel like his mother and not his lover. In the beginning he praised me all the time and bragged about his awesome GF to all of his friends. Did little things to make me feel special, loved, and appreciated. Little by little though all the things I did for him became expected and not appreciated. No thank you's or praises. The little things he used to do became far and few in between (if at all). When I would try and ask him about his day I'd get the "fine" answer I gave my mother 100 times and he'd sit down to smoke and watch TV or start on his homework for the rest of the night until bed. We were rarely apart but i felt more alone then when I was single. I couldn't talk to him about anything. If I was sad, mad, happy, whatever. If I got to excited or upset he'd just shut down. Most of the time it wasn't anything to do with us. I had a bad day at work. My crazy family upset me again. I got a promotion at work. Anything. If my volume or expression got above a certain level he just shut down.
I had all the control and I didn't want any of it! I missed passion, romance and fucking!
I realized I needed things he couldn't offer. So I ended it.
Now, back to the question in the title. How long is long enough, after one relationship ends to begin another one?
I've been single for almost three months now. I've dated, but not a lot. I don't feel like I'm ready for a relationship just yet. I'm scared. I hurt my ex really really bad. It was the hardest thing to do even though I wasn't happy. He was happy and I broke his heart. I feel like if I get into another relationship too soon it's like a slap in the face to him. Is that silly?
BTW - sorry my first post is so long! :)
