I very much applaud and respect your comment especially the last paragraph. I hate how it has seemingly become a war. I'm not saying that everyone on subs like this is perfect or that everyone is well meaning, far from it, but I honestly think that a large proportion of people here are truly fighting for equality, not just for men, but for people in general. I think that there is a high level of empathy in a lot of what I read here. Yes we are currently aiming that at men's rights but it is easy for us to do so as we are living through it and experiencing prejudice right now but I truly think most people here would rightly fight for moral and just equality for all. Both sides of gender, race, age etc. I think it allows us to also see things from multiple perspectives. Whilst there is always an element of personal hurt when a trait that you yourself have is attacked, I think it is also about standing up to bullies and that comes from a place of sympathy, morality and kindness. I hope I don't come across as self righteous saying that. I must admit I am sometimes prone to reactionary instincts that I wish I could control, as they usually hurt me more than help, but I try my hardest to take a step back, think about why I'm upset and learn from it. Anecdotal intuition is a great phrase. I'll be using that again for just that reason :) it'll help me realise when I'm being overly sensitive and I can hopefully continue to learn to see the wider perspective and judge morality and potential prejudice accordingly. I am glad I've been hovering around here of late though. It does give me some faith in humanity.
