Tell them that men in europe a perfectly fine, even though the vast majority of them are not circumcised. If there are any benefits for circumcision the boy/man can still get one later in his life. And since it will affect him for his entire life it should be something he decides to do and not anyone else.

For me as an outsider considering the obvious immorality of circumcision and the extent to which the procedure violates human rights and is harming the baby, there is no hesitation in saying, that you should try to get your uncle and aunt not circumcise their boy by providing them with accurate information about the procedure.

However I can see that you are under social pressure not to speak up about circumcision, which makes it quit a lot harder for you. I will say to encourage you to carry on anyway, that exactly this is the point of activism: challenging preexisting social norms, to make lasting change

I think that you have an obligation to try to influence them, no matter how your parents react. Circumcision has an effect on sexual pleasure, and in a few cases the procedure can go horribly wrong. The choice has to be up to the boy when he becomes an adult.

Your uncle's emotions might be hurt, but that is nothing next to genital mutilation.

You have a choice. Do you want to avoid the short term pain for yourself by staying silent? This could lead to long term pain knowing that you could have said something and didn't. It sounds like you don't have the power to stop the circumcision but you can use your voice to make your opinion known.

You can't help anyone if you got no conviction of your own. Doubting yourself too much, plus don't seem to know the facts. And Too late now anyway, circumcision happens within 48 hrs after birth.

If you didn't know they sell Foreskin leftovers to pharmaceutical companies, and they need to be as virgin as possible. www.attc.org sells foreskin fibroblasts for $500 a piece.

Maybe ask relatives of what they were told of what would happen to the foreskin that was removed. I can assure they didn't disclose that nor were told of any complications from the procedure.

Well sometimes you have to grow up and stand up for your decisions even in front of your parents.In Europe and most countries in the world circumcision word is not even known in general population.They consider it stupid and barbaric a relic from ancient times.Only Jews and some muslim communities are doing that but even many of the new generations dropped the practice.Aside from the mutilation ,It is stupid to have less sensitivity and experience less sexual pleasure.Moreover there were women that experienced more sexual pleasure(because of the prepuce rubbing on the clitoris,there is an interesting dynamic there ) when they had sex with normal dudes than with circumcised ones.

If you need a defendable position, go with “I just don’t understand how “love“ cutting off a part of a baby that can’t defend or speak for themself”

They’ll try to change it up but don’t let them - keep playing the “do you realize you’re arguing in favor of cutting off a part of infants body? if you don’t see that as unethical, you’re fucked up in the head” angle.

the big-dog with this defense is “i dont ever want to be a parent of it makes you rationalize cutting the genitals of a baby - right now, if I imagine holding my newborn son in my arms, deciding whether i was happy with his penis would be my last concern”
