If a woman is allowed to essentially kill her unborn children because it's her body and her choice, a man should be allowed to "financially abort" his child by giving up his parental rights because it's his money, and therefore his choice.

When a man gets a text a few weeks later from a one night stand, saying "We need to talk", or the escort he slept with last month lied about being on the pill, or his ex girlfriend called him a month after the breakup to let him know he got her pregnant, his life crumbles down. When he asks if whoever's now pregnant is getting an abortion, she says no. He now has to work hard at his job only for a portion of his wage to go to a child he doesn't even want.

If he refuses, he will go to court where he is treated as a criminal just because he doesn't want to pay for an unwanted child. He may have his hard-earned wages docked, or even find himself in jail for a while.

A woman can choose to essentially kill her unborn child, so why can't a man walk away without having a financial burden on him for the next eighteen years? A man should be allowed to "financially abort" his child, at least up until they are born. This means he will never be associated with the child again. He'll never be able to return to court for part time custody, and if the mother dies the child won't get sent to their father. It would be a good way for a father to continue his life without the extra stress he must now endure. It will also encourage the mother to get a job if she doesn't already and that would be good for women's rights too, as it would make women realise they need to get into the workforce more and not have a man do stuff for her for the rest of her life.
