If a woman does not want a partner the state pays child support, gives the family accommodation and steps in to financially support the family.

When you are a young and inexperienced boy, it's easy to mistake fear for respect, and only look at the short term, and not even notice there is a long term. Most people don't respect drug dealer thug types, but they probably won't fuck with them openly out of fear. Most people wouldn't piss on them to put the fire out if they are in flames either though.
