You seem to have a good grasp of the style you're going for, natural but classy looking. Good, that's step one. Step two, specify that. Think about that "natural yet classy"style, what specific things come to mind? Pinterest can be SUPER helpful here, browse style boards, create one of your own, pin outfits, and look at your recurring themes. This will help you get a good idea of what colors, patterns, pieces, etc you like. For example, my style is very romantic meets preppy. Think headbands, floral prints, shift dresses, skater skirts, leggings with drapey sweaters, stripes, etc. You'll start to see those common themes. At the same time, make sure you're picking things that look good on you! A lot of women just instinctively know what their body shape is and what their best colors are, but if you find yourself at all confused there are great online quizzes that can quickly determine these things, and don't underestimate the power of your girlfriends here. Next up, shop your closet, put everything where you can see it, now toss/donate anything that doesn't fit well, is damaged, or doesn't fit your style. Keep only those pieces that are flattering and would fit in well on your style board. This will give you a good idea of what you have to work with and you probably have a lot more than you think :) last step is to fill in the gaps. Hit those thrift shops or anywhere else you'd like armed with a specific list of missing pieces that you need to complete your look. Ex. White button down or black skinny jeans, this way you aren't wasting time and money adding to an already jumbled closet. Boom you're done, enjoy your fun new wardrobe! 1950s, but not everyone has the body type for it. Start with your body type because you can't cheat your body type out of looking flattering. Its either flattering on you or its not.

Second, choose colors that flatter your hair color and skin time. Primarily wear 2-3 of those colors with 1-2 accent colors if you want. To choose that, choose warm or cool, dark neutrals or light neutrals.

Choose the cuts that are flattering on you when you see them for sale in the future. You know to buy them in the colors you normally wear.

Third, have a "thing" that you do that others don't. Whether an accessory, a print, or something that makes you unique. Think Jane Birkin and her infamous basket purse as well as her bangs.

Things like that. It takes time. Almost no one gets it right, right away.

First of all you have to find a style that works for you. How important to you is practicality and physical comfort? Some women like clothes that purely look good and manage to work their lives around it, others would feel a constant itch and like they couldn't live their lives if they had to wear heels and a pencil skirt every day. I am around the same height and a similar weight to you and I am an apple shape. I tend to wear mostly leggings or yoga pants and jersey type dresses or sweaters. I tend to like grey, black, navy and pastels. I don't like white or anything to loud or flashy and i like things to be a combination of feminine, functional and modest. As for foot wear I have issues with my joints and connective tissues. I cannot wear most foot wear for daily use so I don't think my advice would apply to most other women regarding that. I think it's finding your own personal style and fitting it with your lifestyle.
