In the first study, 820 women were recruited, with 40% reporting they were single, 33% married, and 27% saying they were in a committed relationship but not married. Out of them, 85% said they were heterosexual, and they were the focus for this study.

This is more anecdata than data - the sample size is way too small and appears to be self-selecting.

But if you wanted a sociologist to tell you that exploitative/deceptive behavior on the dating scene correlates with dark triad personality traits, well, OK. Stay the fuck away from people who send you unsolicited nudes, and stay the fuck away from people who request/expect an expensive first date. This seems like common sense to me.
