I dislike remakes in general, and these ones are among the worst.

There are so many great, original stories with good female leads that it's ridiculous to even consider gender-swap remakes. With the power of today's CGI, a film can have a big-budget look at a relatively small cost.

For one, Hollywood is lazy today. They don't have writers that provide original ideas anymore. And executives don't like taking bets. Movies are extremely expensive to make these days and box office bombs can lose tens of millions of dollars. So a lot of times they just use a previous successful franchise that worked before and just swap the characters or the setting and bank on the results being the same.

Second, feminists and SJWs like doing these swaps in order to make a point that a woman can play the role too. They think it will show producers that women can play those parts too when considering roles in the future.

Well I say you cannot have a proper World War II movie without a totally diverse cast in which Hitler, Montgomery, Eisenhower, the entire Wehrmacht and British Army are played by obese bisexual Latinas with physical disabilities so bad, they must tool around in whirring motorized wheelchairs and obtain their sustenance from drip bags and tubes up their noses. There is nothing that inherently makes gender swaps bad (Starbuck and Boomer in BSG we're great!).

The problem we're seeing is that studios are taking garbage scripts and using gender swapped casting as a gimmick to try and get people to show up because they agree with the decision. Problem is most people don't care, and just want the movie to be good.
