How come when young boys are bullied by young girls adults say that the girl likes them, but when the script is flipped its suddenly a problem?

Honestly I have heard it go both ways, with girls getting told that boys like them if they tease them, and vice versa. I don't know if it's a problem either way, as long as an adult steps in and explains that isn't how you treat someone you like.

I’ve actually heard it more often the other way around. When a boy teases a girl (pulls her hair, shoved her etc.) it’s generally thought that it’s because they like her. I guess it does go both ways, I’ve just heard it more often from guys to girls

Growing up female I've only heard it the other way around, but either way it's a fucked up thing to say, especially since adults just say that and nothing else, so the message becomes nothing but "That guy/girl likes you, so who cares how they treat you?".
