18 month jail sentence suspended for two years

This is normal in the UK for a first offence. We don't lock everyone up for every crime. Doing so is seen as counter-productive

It you want to campaign for longer sentences for violent crime, please do so. /r/MensRights, this isn't a men vs women issue

To my surprise the Judge wasn't a woman ,

sentencing Judge Andrew Woolman told Brown: 'You and the victim had a long standing negative relationship for reasons that do not matter.

He said

This was a very reckless thing to do and could have been so much worse. The reason for the suspended sentence is first of all because it was a reckless action rather than deliberate.

I'd think having your actions described as reckless was a reason for jail time not to get off...…………….. unless your a woman I guess.

Wow, the explanation from the lawyer is such a huge amount of balderdash, would it even be a question if he had been hit and blinded? Throwing a glass bottle at the best of times is astonishingly dangerous and reckless.

She also hit him, saying it ' it was a reckless action rather than deliberate.' is fucking dumb, she meant for it to hit him, obviously.

Well they could refuse, you never know, I can appreciate the Monarchy are impotent in this case but the implication is a bit unnerving as tbh they could decide we should have a full blown Monarchy again, though no idea how the people would react.
