Women get a discount because of the so called wage gap that doesn't take into account life choices, career paths, hours worked, productivity etc.

Of course there are men in Berlin that are poor and women who are rich. Does Berlin care about the class differences? Of course not! Screw poor men!

It was only for one day and not a month as reported but is also completely illegal under EU law.

Sex discrimination is also prohibited in access to and the supply of goods and services (Directive 2004/113/EC).

BERLIN — Women will ride Berlin's metro, trams and buses at a 21 percent discount this month to reflect Germany's gender pay gap, the city's mass transit operator BVG said on Tuesday.

The “Frauenticket” will appear at city ticket machines on March 18, with stamped passes valid until 3 a.m. the next day, BVG said. The discount would reduce the cost of a day ticket in the inner two zones of Berlin from €7 to €5.50.

“Most men from Berlin will not only understand this action, but support it,” said BVG, adding it is a temporary measure to raise awareness. "Especially since this small gesture of solidarity is disproportionate to what women are deprived of in income on a yearly basis."

I think the issue is that BVG (whatever that is) is totally ignorant about the issue, and indeed, about reality.

If women want to earn more they are free to choose different occupations and work longer and harder. By some as of yet unexplained miracle, this secret trick the Illuminati does not want you to know about actually works.

Just walk up to the ticket counter and say

"Bitter, Herr Horst, um identifien kommen zie Frau." and then watch their head asplode as they have to give you the discount because you're soaking in gender fluid.

EDIT: BETTER YET - go up and say you identify as a three year old, so you get in free.

Of course this 21% is calculated using the following data (original in german):

The unadjusted Gender Pay Gap is put together through the comparison of absolute hourly rates without taking into consideration any of the causing factors.

The hourly rates of men and women are split into groups (eg. Age, Field and Federal State) are determined and the Gender Pay Gap is calculated using the following formula:

((Average Hourly rate of men - Average hourly rate of women) / average hourly rate of men) * 100.

As highlighted above, this is where the 21% figure comes from... From a calculation that does not take into consideration any of the causing factors.

Now, they also used to calculate the adjusted Gender Pay Gap, original is also at the above link in german:

The adjusted Gender Pay Gap is calculated based on a four year earnings survey. Here, differences in earnings are calculated, that are based on structural differences between genders, and can be traced back to them such as differences in occupation, education, work experience or the lower ratio of women in management positions. It needs to be considered that the surveyed data is the upper limit. The Gender Pay Gap would have resulted in a lower value if more wage relevant factors for the analysis were available, for example declarations of earnings-breaks

The last adjusted value is from 2014 interestingly enough, there hasn't been one done in 2018 since the calculated gap has been trending down.

Weird how the tabloids and politicians never actually reference THIS value when talking about the Gender Pay Gap...

German men should boycott the U-Bahn, complaining on the web won't change anything. They should commute only with their cars and put on bumper stickers saying that they will not use public transport which discriminates against them. This way the people will know that the increased traffic of their city is because of crazy feminist policies.
