I never understood that about "Teach men not to rape."

Yeah, no shit, we teach EVERYONE not to rape. It's not like that is new information or something that men will have to practice. Everyone knows not to rape... some people (men and women) rape other people (men and women) anyway.

It shouldn't be controversial to state the facts. Masculinity isn't toxic and men are not inherently violent.

I’m not surprised honestly. Some people will believe anything to push their narrative, even if it is completely incorrect. It’s sad that many people have dropped this low.

At least in their attempt to tarnish masculinity, people seems to be finding toxic feminity is a reality. There is even a sub for that now r/Toxic_Femininity .

I hope they'll provide Roxane with a wide enough couch and a reinforced stage for her to speak from. But shipping her down to New Zealand by barge will be slow.

Forgive the obesity jokes, but she reminds me of a supersized fuckin' haggis wearing Mrs. Potato Head accouterments.

We constantly hear stories online and on the news about females who have been attacked, raped, murdered, and these stories are always followed up with messages for women about how to better protect ourselves.

As opposed to, say, boring humdrum news stories about men being murdered which quickly transition onto the next news item without much commentary.

Really, if it's horribly offensive and terrible to suggest that women take steps to protect themselves as a supplement to augment all the other parallel efforts to keep public safety, then it's a total waste to direct any other public safety messaging at women as well. Women can't bear to hear "look both ways before crossing the street," for instance, because that blames them somehow and distracts attention from demonizing drivers. Nor can they hear "don't smoke while standing beside the gasoline tanker truck" because that restricts women's freedom so smoke wherever they want. Or, like, "don't go hiking in Taliban-held rural Afghanistan" because we need to teach the Taliban not to kidnap instead.

"Don't forget to lock your front door when you go out." says the common-sense reminder.

"HOW DARE YOU! YOU'RE BLAMING ME FOR BEING BURGLARIZED! Someone needs to teach burglars that stealing is wrong!" replies the offended nitwit.

...in 2011 the CDC reported results from the National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey (NISVS), one of the most comprehensive surveys of sexual victimization conducted in the United States to date.

The survey found that men and women had a similar prevalence of nonconsensual sex in the previous 12 months (1.270 million women and 1.267 million men).

This remarkable finding challenges stereotypical assumptions about the gender of victims of sexual violence.

However unintentionally, the CDC’s publications and the media coverage that followed instead highlighted female sexual victimization, reinforcing public perceptions that sexual victimization is primarily a women’s issue.
