The 62-year-old said since she was in just the one night, the hospital didn’t move her to another room after she raised her concerns — though she admits she didn’t specifically ask to be switched.

How is this even a story that made it to press? She's complaining because the hospital didn't do something she didn't ask them to do?

I mean, I can understanding wanting to switch hospital rooms on account of different genders because hospital gowns don't cover much. (I find the claim of sexism here dubious at best. She could just be modest) However, what this is, is just big nothing burger journalism at its finest. The story is literally, 60 year woman whines about minor inconvenience.

Honestly, I think with the exception of emergency inpatients, most people are to sick and stressed for sexual shenanigans to much of an issue. What with visitors, nurses, doctors etc. most wards are like busy express-ways anyway. As long as there's reasonable privacy - in the past I've seen patients beds lined-up along public corridors.
