That's embarrassing police work. 4 or 5 grown police officers cant subdue and restrain a drunk college girl without potentially killing her? Had they done their job right in the first place she wouldn't have had a chance to "slap" him. The force he responded with was way more excessive than he needed. I am all for women being treated equally, but I feel like this one is wrong. Police are public servants there to protect people from themselves and that's part of the job is dealing with shitty drunk people who indulge to much. This police officer is very lucky that girl wasnt killed.

Prob get downvoted, but just because the cop was legally justified in hitting her doesn’t mean he SHOULD have hit her like that.

You do the same thing to a woman as a citizen? Guarantee that same cop would light you up - you’re going to jail, even w video.

And yes, I understand the primal satisfaction of seeing her getting smacked.

But a police officer shouldn’t be responding to triggers like that — no way she caused him injury — and the way he hit her without hesitation tells me he has no qualms about violence against women.

No normal man unleashes on a woman like that — be honest. Most of us would instinctively hesitate to slug a restrained female in her face, whether she ‘deserved’ it or not.

I expect more restraint from someone I give the privilege of exercising deadly force against society with impunity.

That was excessive as hell. A grown man — a trained fighter — reacting to a little slap by punching a woman full-force in her face is over-the-top.

He could have killed her or disabled her for life.

Like a doctor, a cop should ‘first do no harm.’
