It feels so strange to see those words. My whole life it seems like it would be so wrong to say anything like that out loud. Like the immediate response would be "why should you get special recognition for just doing what you're supposed to do?" followed by an eye roll. I was a stay at home dad for a few years when my boy was really little, and man I've never felt so unappreciated and worthless in my life. Even his mom, whose idea it was in the first place, respected me less and less every day. It's a trip. If a woman stays home with the kids it's noble and she should be commended for her hard work. But if a man stays home with the kids he's a loser and probably just can't get a job because he's lazy. I felt judged and disrespected all the time. Even from my own mother... But I have a really close bond with my son and that makes it completely worth it to me.

It'd be nice if Men's Rights could be kept as an apolitical movement, but that isn't going to happen. Conservatives aren't real sympathetic, but some are at least willing to hear us out. Progressives, on the other hand, have become obsessed with identity politics. They're willing to lie, suppress, and use violence to silence anyone who speaks about men's issues. I hear over and over again: "They're just angry that they can no longer rape, abuse, and harass women with impunity!" And this isn't about MRAs specifically, but white men as a whole.

I hate it being so one sided, since I know we have plenty of liberals and progressives in the movement too. Unfortunately, that's the political climate we're operating in.

What does it matter that they support men’s rights too? It’s not a partisan thing, it’s a grassroots idea of social activism.

Unlike what people want you believe, supporting men’s rights is not a crusade against feminism. No room for embracing angry misogynists* in our movement, it weakens the cause. Objections to gynocentrism is certainly ok though.

*I’m assuming that you know about the types of posts that go on over there in T_D, specifically targeted sexism upheld, etc. Not bashing the sub, just... specific people in said thread.

I’m in the camp that has lived to see that men and women are harmed equally by sexism. It isn’t good for anyone. And I trust that privilege is not something that can be simplified to just gender alone.

People are very complex: upbringing, societal structures and wealth are just some of the things that can contribute to harmful sexism. We need to fix those structures, with same the matched enthusiasm as feminists do towards women’s rights.

"Honor" from a handful of tradcucks means nothing. Honor won't get you anything. You can't buy food with honor, or pay prostitutes with honor, your medical bills will cost more than honor. It's a trick gynocentric female supremacist assholes use to get young men to die in a war while their spoiled wives cuck them at home.
