I've had long thoughts about this phrase. Operative word here is 'Handle'. Do they mean 'Handle', like a door handle, or something on a pot? A grip by which you would move an object? If so, the phrase could be 'If you can't manipulate me at my worst...'

On the other hand, the common phrases interpetation of 'Handle' is more similar to 'withstand'. So, 'if you can't cope with me at my worst...'

Either way, I have no interest in manipulating a woman away from her worst impulses a'la 1950's. Neither do i want to have to withstand anything.

My sister in law is like this. She's in her forties, never had a relationship last more than two years, and is a miserable sack of abusive shit. I honestly feel sorry for her, I wish she'd go to therapy but anyone who mentions it gets verbally and physically abused.

It's no excuse but people generally treat others how they feel inside. Once you internalize that you'll see it everywhere. A lot of unhappy people out there who take it out on others.
