I've seen some of those videos before and what I feel is missing to really put the nail in the coffin is after a group of people have watched a woman abuse a man for several minutes; how will they react when he defends himself?

I fully expect most to dive in again as if he were the aggressor. Might be interesting for someone to try.

I figure most would go like the how can she slap video.

I fear you may be correct. Still, it's something that hasn't been done often and might be the next step to take to try and push awareness of the double standard.

[–]Neko404 4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I don't disagree...but i am not willing to pull the trigger on that social experiment.

[–]xxxMonicaMalonexxx 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Agreed. I've seen this double standard for decades. As a woman I'm sickened by this BS idea that women think its ok to hit men and expect to get away with it. At the same time, I can see where if people see a woman hitting a man, they are probably first asking themselves why. Many women are serially abused. That being said, some either ball up in a corner or eventually lash out. Just the same if any physically abusive situation occurs in public it should be reported.

Read a few of the other answers to see the feminist talking points. "Women are majority victims of IPV, and even if that's not true, women are only beating their SOs to protect their children or in cases of self defense. Women were always oppressed and kept in their homes with 0 freedom, so they had the right to run those as they see fit!"

In my point of view, the reason females are more likely to be aggressive is because when they were little they were told that it’s ok if they hit a boy but not the other way around, or at least they were told indirectly. One time a while ago my sister hit me in the face so I do a little love tap to her face, so my mom started yelling at me because boys “aren’t allowed to hit girls”

[–]Moneyshot7319 2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I grew up hearing that every day. Can’t tell you how many times I’d get slapped in the back of the head or even kicked in the junk. Sure enough they’d chant “Girls can hit boys, but boys can’t hit girls.” One day I sorta snapped and kicked a girl in her junk after she kicked me. Parents got involved and it was a big mess.

Would you fell up to making a post expanding on your experiences?

I once mimicked a girl outside a club who was a friend of a friend. Did it because she was being obnoxious. She had been loudly bragging about all the holidays her daddy was paying for her to have because her family were so wealthy, while she also mocked poor people as being lazy.

So, as I said, I mimicked her to take the piss.

Immediately, half the male 'friends' we both knew literally grabbed me and surrounded me. Told me insulting a woman was wrong and now I'd pay for it.

Knew I was gonna get a beating, so figuring I'd nothing to lose, I took a risk.

I played it all Martin Riggs from Lethatl Weapon, acted like I welcomed the idea of taking them all on in a fight, and causally claimed I had gang connections....(I didnt , and dont, but like I said, I had to roll the dice as I was already screwed)

Thankfully it worked to the extreme that the leader of the men ended up apologising to me, and in a private phone call later, begging for reassurances he'd be safe in town.....

Nobody told the girl to watch her mouth. Nobody once told her to shut up. Nobody told her to stop being an asshole.

Cos that's how it goes in our society. Men are raised to take on the role of disposable defender of women who maybe once used to behave with honour.

Now, women just behave like everyone else. Which is fine. But men are still expected to defend their non existent honour. That's not fine. That's fucked up.

If a woman behaves like a asshole she should take responsibility and face the consequences just like men have to. Not instead expect men to do it for her. Yet our society still imbues men with the diseased idea that we should.

[–]Hadashi_blacksky[S] 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

That's really shocking stuff.

[–]Rethgil 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Yeah. There's still a part of me can't believe I got out of there in one piece using a bluff. Or that I got into that mess because of toxic societal attitudes towards protecting womens feelings no matter the cost to others.

[–]Hadashi_blacksky[S] 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

You know, this reminds me of one time when I was walking along and some girl shouted stuff at me. I went over to try and tell her off about it, and before I knew it she had a whole troupe of male guards and one guy threatened to stab me under his breath. I got out of there quick.

Literally just wanted to tell her off for yelling at me.

[–]Rethgil 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Ugh that's awful.

And if women like that aren't immediately protected by nearby men, you can bet they'll be protected by similar white knights and feminists in the media, the courts, and so on...

[–]Hadashi_blacksky[S] 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yep. I mean, I don't think I'd actually have been stabbed there and then but they made me feel like some kind of perverse sexual predator stalking a teenager when all I wanted to do was tell her "Could you not yell at me in the street?".

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Not really... I’m more of one to comment not as much post

[–]Hadashi_blacksky[S] 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It is an excellent answer. lots of research and insight.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

How many more studies need to be cited? How many more examples of everyday misandry needt to be highlighted? We all know what's going on right now, it's just an epic shit test. What's happening is that a large part of the thirsty male population , enables this behavior. Jesus Christ, if you need to get laid that bad, to to a massage parlor or something. YOU ARE FUCKING SOCIETY UP

[–]mwobuddy 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Why do you think prostitution is illegal.. only for males getting the service. Not females giving it?

Me? I was just trying to help.... :/

Violence? There'd be a lot less without the women who openly TELL their male partners to beat someone up because their feelz got upset over something they said to them.

Or the mothers who raise their boys to be "good little soldiers", or to fight for the 'honour' of women-when most women display no honour anymore.

Or the women who psychologically bully, insult and abuse the men in their lives then play the 'can't hit me, I'm a woman' card.

Or the vast number of female rulers throughout history who have ordered millions of men into senseless deaths through battle.

Or crazed female queens such as those who ruled Britain and ordered men executed whenever they didn't feel flattered enough by their comments.

Women are human. They are just as capable, responsible and to blame as men for violence and is evil acts. It disturbs me that questions about this are even asked. Shows just how prgramed we are with bullshit notions about women and violence.

This data isn't new. It's been out there for a while now. The only thing that has changed is who is interpreting it and who is building a narrative around it. If you single out certain points of data just right, you can get them to fit any narrative you want. It's frustrating, but that's why it's just as important to craft a better, more appealing narrative in response.

[–]Hadashi_blacksky[S] 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'd honestly love it if the data was all it took - but you are right.
