According to The Cincinnati Enquirer, Roe said that she was being punished for "engaging in the same sexual freedoms that men on the campus enjoy."

HAHAHAHA. This whole story is a gold mine.

That's usually everyone's argument when they get caught. It always comes to down to "but they get to do it" it's such an elementary argument lmao

“But this one man stabbed and abused his spouse! Why can’t I?! WEEEEEEH”

These people really think men can rape with impunity.

[–]Kytell 153 points154 points155 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

What a fucked up system they have created.

But on a serious note. irrelevant of gender there is a enough sexual misconduct at colleges to warrant attention and an attempt to do something.

I applaud you and your noble quest to cure insanity

[–]darksideofthemoon131 133 points134 points135 points 8 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

Why is her name redacted? If this was a guy his name would be made public.

[–]RupeThereItIs 34 points35 points36 points 8 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

Because the article points out that she is the alleged victim of another sexual assault, and she alleges the this whole issue is a form of revenge for that.

She is therefore still shielded as the alleged victim in the first case.

[–]darksideofthemoon131 8 points9 points10 points 8 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Just because she is the "victim" in another case shouldn't afford her the right to protection when she is accused. When the school suspended her, found her culpable in not getting consent, her status as a victim becomes mute. People deserve to know they have a sexual predator in their midst, isn't that the reason given when men are named and accused?

[–]RupeThereItIs 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

her status as a victim becomes mute.

No it doesn't. Laws don't work that way.

In the other incident, she was the alleged victim and still covered by victim protection laws. Just because you want something to be true doesn't make it so.

[–]darksideofthemoon131 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

It seems like relative bullshit and if this was a man, he would be named. What this says is that everyone should claim "victim" status so that when they become the accused they can be shielded. Do you see how illogical this is? Just because you think something is just, doesn't mean its justified.

[–]RupeThereItIs 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

It seems like relative bullshit and if this was a man, he would be named.

Not if there was already a related case that protected his identity, no.

You seem to want to ignore that fact in order to press your own agenda.

I'm not arguing that this is or isn't justified, i'm just pointing out that it is how it is & that in this case it isn't some sexist action.

I believe accused people should have their identities shielded as well in sexual misconduct or rape cases, at least until conviction. Your attitude comes off as bitter & anti women, as the facts of the case do NOT in any way back up your point here.

[–]darksideofthemoon131 4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Calling someone anti-woman is wrong. I'm not anti-woman, I'm against women not being treated as men would be in the exact same scenarios. I could say you're anti-woman for believing they should be treated differently. Are we not striving for equality? And with that equality doesn't it mean the pussy pass no longer works? Isn't that what this sight is about?

[–]RupeThereItIs 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I'm against women not being treated as men would be in the exact same scenarios

This statement isn't backed up at all by your comments, as you're very specifically refusing to look at the entire scenario.

[–]darksideofthemoon131 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Because if it was a male as I see it, they would be named. However lack of precedent doesn't afford me evidence because most men do not report assault. I don't understand people who can't respect an opinion without demanding evidence. You want evidence, look up how men have been dragged through the mud on false accusations. Then find me an instance of it happening to a woman. Historically women who are accused of sleeping with students, pedophilia and assault are viewed less harshly than men and get treated far differently. There are severe inequities in the system and to ignore that is a disservice to all.

[–]darksideofthemoon131 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Shouldn't a student be made aware of threats and potential assaults on campus and who to avoid. Half the reason they name accused is because they're trying to see if more will come forward that didn't report it. Shouldn't men be afforded that privilege? I'd want to know

[–]RevBlueMoon[S] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Case law to my knowledge doesn’t protect anybody. That’s more or less a gentleman’s agreement the press has with the justice system.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This isn't a recognized law, this is Title IX bullish

This needs to happen more in order for the situation to be analyzed legally. A danger that causes change is one that affects women, once the shoe is on the other foot they will say "now wait a minute" to all this nonsense.

Post this in r/twoxtrachromosomes

"Non consensual sex" ..so rape? I wonder why they don't use the word "rape"

[–]the_unseen_one 16 points17 points18 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Women and feminist men don't think men can be raped.

[–]HeadHunt0rUK 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

In the UK, rape is defined by penetration of an "object" into the arse or vagina.

So in the majority of cases where a woman forces herself on a man, it's not classified as rape.

"Man don't want no stanky on his hangdown" Is the new legal definition

At a hearing, the university determined that he had been intoxicated, and that it thus had no choice but to suspend Roe until his graduation. Roe filed an appeal and was denied.

I'm confused. I thought Roe was the girl?

[–]nesants 18 points19 points20 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I think it means that she’s suspended until the accuser graduates.

[–]georgeapg 7 points8 points9 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

In this case his stands for doe. "Suspend Roe until Doe's graduate.

[–]octopustitties 7 points8 points9 points 8 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

They used John Doe to name the male, and Jane Roe to name the female

Edit: Just read through the rest of the article. That sentence has a mistake, using "his" instead of "her". Makes the whole thing pretty confusing.

[–]WhatIsThisAccountFor 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No I think it’s that the female assailant is suspended from the school until the male victim’s graduation.

[–]the_unseen_one 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Still a pussy pass since she wasn't expelled, but it's something.

[–]pasta4u 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It would be great if after every drunkin sexual encounter a man went and filed a title 9 rape charge against the woman. That rule would get fixed real quick

[–]RevBlueMoon[S] 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Under the logic of these universities, it’s every man’s obligation to do so: after all, he could not have consented. He’s a victim without realizing!

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points9 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Goddman it. You can't even fuck anymore. Before fucking woman, jerk off twice and then just go to sleep.

[–]inksday 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I love this story, Women have been abusing title IX against men for so long that this woman is surprised to see it used against her.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

She felt she didn't get due process.

You mean like all the men who find themselves in your exact position?

Including the last guy that you accused?

I'll also point out that if you find yourself in a questionable situation then just file a counter claim of rape. Maybe they take her's more seriously if she does it first, but maybe they don't.

Either way they are going to have to hear you out and if they refuse to listen to the guy's claim because she made her claim first then he's got his own Title IX lawsuit.

[–]Kytell 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What a fucked up system they have created.

[–]Rojaddit 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Suspended from school? Not jailed and life ruined forever? hmmmm.....

[–]-u-words 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

of course the identity is protected if the aggressor is male

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

One week ago or so I pointed out, that such a hypothetical situation will become real. And here we have it. Two people rape each other according to law. So it’s no rape. 1 - 1 = 0. Natural situation reinstated. Drunk people can’t rape they can only fail to consent.

It makes perfect sense.

[+]OzziePeck -16 points-15 points-14 points 8 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

How does a women sexually assault a male? Strap on and anal? Oh good lord.

[–]ceramorin 9 points10 points11 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Do you want to have sex with every girl on the planet? I’m talking EVERY single girl. No? Then why would it be okay for a girl you don’t want to have sex with to do it anyway while you’re drunk?

[–]OzziePeck -1 points0 points1 point 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I was asking how

[–]ceramorin 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

By touching his dick/fucking/sucking it without his consent obviously?

[–]OzziePeck -4 points-3 points-2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

That’s all you had to say, it wasn’t hard was it.

[–]MrPoopyButtwholes -1 points0 points1 point 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

it wasn’t hard was it.

Neither was his dick, apparently
