Man, it's so sad to hear that he took his own life. He's not the one who should feel ashamed. His masculinity wasn't diminished. It was the people who raped him who proved themselves to be shameful, predatory assholes. In a just world they'd be the ones driven to eat rat poison over what they'd done.

Im a thirty yo man and I was molested when I was eight by my neighbor several times. I didn't tell my parents until I was fifteen. I actually only told my dad. What was his response? To essentially berate me for telling him and dismiss it. The world cares about your well being only if you are a female.

The quote in your title makes me sick to my stomach. I can’t imagine a father betraying his son like that. India hates women, so comparing genders is not wise. But NO child should ever be victimized, and boys are at risk in a misogynistic society. They need the same protections and attention.
