Unfortunately, it's not that uncommon for women to react violently to being rejected by men. But what's even more problematic is that society tends to marginalize female-on-male violence, downplay how often it happens, and perpetuate the narrative that acid attacks is a women's issues or that only women have to fear the opposite sex becoming violence with them after rejection

I hope the girl who did this is brought to justice, and that this boy is able to recover enough to still live a fulfilling life after this

This is horrific obviously and I feel sorry for this poor kid.

I'm curious to know why the mother was arrested. If it comes to light that she actively helped her daughter commit this attack then this couldn't - as they often seem to be - just be dismissed as harmlessly crazy teen girl stuff.
