I don't get why people can't just let kids play with whatever kind of toys they want instead of making it into a big issue of "these are the kinds of toys my son / daughter should or should not be playing with"

So, after one or more years of being given a particular type of toy, kids tend to go for that kind of toy. What a surprise! Next, they'll be claiming that little girls naturally like the color pink! No, folks, even by the age of one the kids have received many messages saying, "This is what you are supposed to do."
