Gosh, you mean institutionalized shaming is unpopular? Hope the media finds out.

Good. I hope they learned something from it

. A UW spokesperson would not specify the reason for the program's termination, but did confirm that the school has no plans to convert it into a course for academic credit.

No doubt, there were men who joined who were actually men's rights advocates and who were fighting for that passionately, rather than reading from the retarded scripts they were given by their University sponsored feminist overlords.

Not going to assume MRAs brigaded the course and shot it down from the inside. It sounds like there was enough political pressure from the outside to sink it. I suspect that, along with low interest from "men-identified students" caused them to think twice.

Possibly some FTM transmen who actually see value in the masculine label didn't appreciate the insults on the gendered culture they identify with. I suspect biological females' umbrage, especially if taken as an affront to their trans-choice to want to live up to the "masculine" label, would matter more than biological men taking offense at any notions of masculinity they hold in any esteem.

I don't know. I haven't exactly heard many members of the trans community objecting to the concept of "toxic masculinity." If anything, they seem to support feminist narratives. Maybe that's just because the ones who don't don't speak up, but...I'm skeptical.

EDIT: Yeah, just did a search for "toxic masculinity" on r/asktransgender. Results are not very promising.

You can see value in the masculine label without believing people need to conform to it based on biology. I'm female-bodied but have always thought of myself as male gendered, and I am far more comfortable and capable in traditionally masculine roles, hobbies, clothing, and groups than traditionally feminine ones. However, I recognize that this doesn't mean any cis male or transsexual FtM people must also take on these roles. It's absolutely fine for them to enjoy traditionally feminine things and doesn't make them less of a man.

But yeah... this is not a popular belief in the transgender or transsexual community at large.

I hope that every single university out there that hasn't been totally overrun with SJWs fights this and the students blow off any attempt to make these course mandatory.

The bit you quoted is especially disturbing to me from an educational standpoint. They of course 'claim' that they had no plans to convert it to student credit but we've all seen how frequently these sorts of universities try to make moves to make these sorts of courses and workshops mandatory. The only reason they likely stopped is because they realised just how many people were against them on it, I couldn't imagine how shit it must be that you'd have to conform their ideology to even get decent marks and get your degree.

As far as I can tell, Feminism is the only thing perpetuating "simplified definitions of [masculinity]", much in the way Feminism generally kind of does all the things attributed to "Patriarchy".
