The ugliest symbol of inequality in Finland is the conscription army for men. Now they are forcing the conscripted men to take part in HeForShe related education to "decrease violence against women". I'm angry and can just hope that this will turn even more men against elite's feminist ideology.

Finnish presidential candidate (Social Democrat) doesn't want the army to be mandatory for women because they give birth and are weaker. She's naturally a Feminist and campaigning for equality. According to polls almost no-one is going to vote for her, thank God.

The movie Gone Girl seems to be mainly about critiquing the way the society and media demonize men and favor women and how wives have the upper hand in marriages. But nobody seems to have noticed. Spoilers.

Just watched False Confessions: An innocent man faces, well, "female justice". First accused by a female coworker for molesting children, then investigated by a female detective who hides evidence, then prosecuted by a female prosecutor - and then helped to get free by a female lawyer.

I decided to watch Cassie Jaye's The Red Pill. If the IMDB's rating is 8.4, it should be found everywhere, right? So, I pay 3 euros a month for Amazon videos but can't watch it there because "Daring docs" (LOL) are only for Americans. It's not on HBO or Netflix either. Is it anywhere?

Even when using the same suicide methods men are more successful (because of fearlessness of death, pain tolerance, emotional stoicism and sensation seeking). So, it wasn't about the more violent nature of men, even when killing themselves, after all.

Stepped into to a local market with my wife. The cashier yelled: "stop him!" A beer robbery was going on, I learned later one. Being a manly man, I stepped before him. He showed a knife and asked if I'm sure. I stepped aside. The cashier: "You men are no good". Perhaps I'm not a man but I'm alive

This is an obvious lie: women invest 90 percent of their income back into their families, compared with 35 percent for men. And yet when you google it, there are dozens of organizations, medias etc which has published it as a fact. It's amazing how even the most stupid and evil Feminist lies spread.

It seems that women, who are volunteers and can even quit the military without sanctions, are not going to take part in the lessons. And women are according to most studies the more violent party in relationships. And the share of women who are afraid of domestic violence is well under one per cent.

I can imagine myself in a situation like that: first being forced to serve and then told that you shouldn't hit your female partners. "What the fuck, do they really think I don't know that?!" "Shouldn't we be learning how to kill enemies instead of listening to this Feminist propaganda that is based on lies and hatred?"

Very bad for the morale of men - whose grand grandfathers fought heroically during the WWII to protect the women and children, not to beat them up.

And this is done by the president whom I respected.

I'm done with voting unless I find a candidate who sees the world as it is outside the ideologies, feminism in particular - which in likelihood means that I'm done with voting for good.

"Very bad for the morale of men - whose grand grandfathers fought heroically during the WWII to protect the women and children, not to beat them up." True but they were on the side of Germany and the Nazis.

They only changed sides: March 3, 1945, with a formal declaration of war against the already dying Germany.

Yeah, Finns fought two evil dictators and mass murderers and stayed independent unlike any other neighbor of Russia - while the western allies just fought one and helped the other one. Many ignorant or immoral people think that the allies were morally superior. LOL. But your ignorance is totally irrelevant to the question at hand.

Do not try and re-write history. I know why Finland was on Germany's side. The fear and threat from Russia. Finland was far from neutral. Ukraine borders Russia. Finland had to do what it did or I doubt it would have survived. But I do agree it is irrelevant and no offence is meant. Every country has a past. I have visited Helsinki and Finland is one of my favorite countries.

Stating facts is not an attempt to rewrite history. Finland fought alone against Stalin once and once along with Germany (not de jure but de facto). And then alone against Germany in northern Finland. And Stalin was without a question a dictator and mass murderer.

The USA never declared war against Finland but helped massively Stalin and the Soviet troops.

Finland stayed independent and democratic unlike any other neighbor of Russia (the Soviet Union).

Look the soldiers just followed orders (mandatory conscription), it is not fair to blame them. You can't have mandatory conscription and then blame them for fighting.

Stop being so sensible. But yes you are totally correct.

That's the kind of patriarchal, misogynistic culture we live in: the privileged sex is the one that can be forced into war; the oppressed sex is the one that gets disproportionately more protection from violence /s

Estonian parliament just ratified the Istanbul Convention. Needless to say, no one dared to go against it but one party (basically tradcons). And all 6 of them were labelled to be for womanbeating, naturally, regardless of what they said.

Good times, am I right?

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points9 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Finland was among the first countries to ratify it while it's clearly sexists and feminist declaration.

I am sorry for Finland. Why do politicians sell out their men to curry favor with women? The men won't forget, but the women will in a day or two.

[–]dungone 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Because politicians are sociopaths. I guess?

The conscription of males only is blatant gender discrimination and amounts to slave labour. The European court ruled that countries are allowed to do it since it related to individual defence of a country which is not covered by the European court. Total cop out.

The countries in Europe that have conscription are: Switzerland, Ukraine, Austria, Denmark, Finland, Russia, Lithuania, Belarus, Greece (but it is easy to get out of).

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Norway. And Sweden will introduce it next year.

[–]furchfur 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Norway has it already and it surprisingly applies to females as well. Although they do slightly fewer months of conscription. Sweden is also going to apply it to females as well or so they say.

I'm a lurker to this sub, never posted here before but I gotta say, as a Finnish man the conscription here is a bit of a joke really.

I got a free pass just for being a lard-ass, my friend got the same for minor asthma and a guy I know didn't go because he had wide feet(?), it's still total bullshit that we're supposedly gender equal but this shit still only applies to men.

Many young men don't like it that they aren't 1§considered fit enough to even if they are at the same glad that they don't have to spend 6-12 months doing something they really don't like to do.

So train men to kill other men to protect women but tell them they obviously can't control themselves as men towards women?

Fuuuuuuuck. No wonder so many men are confused and have had enough.
