Look at the timeline. They conveniently admit it was discriminatory about a month and a half after the movie's theatrical run?

They excluded men and now this is a bone they are throwing to try to shut them up after they got all that free publicity for those woman only showings.

Hell I wouldn't be surprised if the Drafthouse actually PLANNED to offer the DVDs as a contingency tactic in case they got any heat over it. Like a literal, "If too many men get upset well offer some sort of compensation to shut them up later." type thing.

Let's not get too excited here. In reality, they are just settling these cases, which they likely view as nuisences, to make them go away. And they are settling them for basically nothing. This is a business decision and nothing else. These settlements allow them to avoid later process, which would be expensive and would potentially result in a judge making a formal finding of discrimination.

TL,DR: This is about managing risks and costs, not about wrongdoing.
