Sheffield United threw him under a bus, didn't help fund his appeal despite his protestations of innocence and allowed the howling of scum like Jessica Ennis-Hill, Charlie Webster and Dave Berry to prevent him from even training with them even after he'd served his time. It's testimony to his loyalty to the club that he'd even consider this after their treatment of him.

Not one team stood up for him when he needed it, even though the case was quite obviously a witch trial from start to finish. Shame on every English league team and all the players who did not make a noise on his behalf.
