What are your thoughts on beards?

If you want one and can grow a good one, do it. Myself? I have an excellent beard. I get compliments all the time. Right now, it's very popular for many women to basically have a beard fetish (thanks, hipsters). Other women don't seem to mind.

Just be sure to keep it trimmed, even if you grow it out a little. Shave the parts of your neck/cheek that you don't want a beard. Make sure your hair is well-groomed too. If you lift and are buff, you'll get extra bonus points. I find the mustache area to be the place where it requires the most diligent upkeep. Get a small pair of scissors and a quality beard trimmer. If you grow your beard out, go to a beardsmith occasionally for professional grooming. Be sure to shave the back of your neck too, you hairy animal.

If it's really long (big?) for no reason it can be seen overcompensating for insecure masculinity. That's with a lot of things though. Some guys rock it, some don't.

Personally I think too many fat guys grow one out cause they're beta pussies and they think a beard makes them manly.

beards are not a sign of masculinity, masculinity is a sign of masculinity. this whole lumbersexual movement is getting out of hand its a bunch of children who think that they can somehow convince others they are a man by growing their face pubes. grow a beard if you think you'll like it, not because you're a pussy who wants to bow yourself before female preferences.

I like having a beard. It makes you look more masculine and when done right, can really make you stand out. Less shaving and not having to deal with ingrown hairs as much. I go with the buzzcut and beard look. Trim my head hair down to the 1/16 inch and I keep my beard around 6 mm.

The look can be pulled off, if you are in good shape and have some muscle. I make sure to trim mine a decent amount, so that it doesn't get too messy. I use beard oil to keep my beard looking good.

I've worn a full beard for most of the past 25 years. Not 'grandfather' length, but like Ben Affleck's, maybe a bit fuller, although I do not otherwise resemble him. Girls like it. My OLTR1 loves to nuzzle her face in it (I am a blond man, so it's not like barbed wire). Women I like are younger and want an older man and a full beard is a sign of masculine authority. Who can grow beards? Men, that's who.

Keep your beard clean and well groomed. Use conditioner on it as well. Some guys use beard oil, I don't. /shrugs.

As with everything, keep it simple. If trimming it takes longer than 2 minutes every couple days, you're obsessing too much on it and need to adjust back to a baseline.

It's a mixed bag. Some like it some don't. I get plenty of compliments on mine. What I think you should do is experiment and find out what you like. Me personally I like to have a well maintained goatee with no connecting sideburns and the only time I'll keep them is when I have a nice shadow going on. Also try to match your face with your beard. It's ugly as hell when you have a skinny face and a huge struggle beard. But it's not much to worry about really just get what you enjoy.

Have had a full beard most my adult life. Big bushy and multi colored, fades from blond to red... it's a good beard. Here's my view on it:

There's a point at which it becomes big enough that to weirdos you look like a heady brah but to professionals and normies you just look like a dirty hippie even if you keep it rounded and not scraggly. The only people who like it are weirdos and hippies, so you'll gain points there.

I think the best look if you can grow a nice full beard is to keep it trim. This makes you look masculine but professional and smooth. I use the 7 on my clipper every few days and it's the best look I've ever had.

Around her you are just another of the 1000 dudes rocking one to compensate for being a mangina. Seriously, it is like the damn stress spinners, every dude reads on Vogue that beards are the rage this summer and then 1000 of the dudes sport them. From neckbeards to dirty 70s biker tangles to more professional ones and frankly most of them look like shit. If you are going to be another of the lackeys at least learn how to take care of one, trim and don't look like lumberjack mcdoofus with cheetos crumbs scattered in it.

Women, I have met, have started complaining about the every dude they meet running dirty ones, unkempt ones.
