Woman rapes 5 boys in her care faces as little as 1 year in jail. Even after every argument used to excuse statutory rape of boys by women fails to apply to this case, she still gets what could amount to a free pass.

Indeed; in every case like this the first thing so many people default is "it's not like they were forced into it", "he's a teen boy; there's no victim", "he probably initiated it", etc. etc. But

Police said she also engaged in sex acts with the teens, and threatened two with “demerits” if they did not cooperate.

so clearly she's a woman who took advantage of her position of power. It should be obvious that threatening people into sex is cut-and-dry predatory behavior--not to mention that her victims were under-aged boys already suffering from mental problems, making them particularly vulnerable

It should be obvious. But as per usual, female abusers aren't real predators and sexually abused boys aren't real victims, even in circumstances like this. It's really a shame that there are so many judges that let ignorant gender stereotypes cloud their judgement over justice. These kinds of people should not be in power

What I want to know is how - if the woman had to threaten the boys - does this not constitute actual rape? Not just statutory, but she forced unwanted sexual contact. I mean there were original charges of forced sodomy, which means there was forced penetration, so how - in what world - is this level of double standard sentencing bullshit okay. A man has his life destroyed for even the accusation of impropriety, but this woman gets a slap on the wrist for attacking a group of young, mentally disturbed boys.

I don't even know what else to say. It's things like this that make me wish I could get my supposed friends to see why the MRM is so important.

One thing that would be interesting to find out and it could be just shitty reporting is why no victim impact statements. If they took statements from the boys, based on what I read they would support a much more severe sentence. Did the prosecutors not offer any or did the judge look at them and feel that the boys weren't actually damaged?
