Blaming technology is just a variation of the Peter Pan narrative of men being boys who need orders from an (obviously female) adult.

Japan stopped fucking in the mid-'80s / early '90s.

At that time, mobile entertainment was Called Game Boy, Game Gear or Lynx. Or CYOA.

"Porn in your pocket" was a rolled up issue of Penthouse. Overall access to pornography was fairly lower than in the '70s.

Birth control was about as efficient as now. AIDS was not a mainstream thing, or described as "a gay disease".

And yet Japan stopped shagging. Not just having children, but having sex altogether, in contrast to the Western world, where birth rates plummeted in the '70s (oral contraception and planned parenthood), whereas sexual activity, well, it was the '70s.

So no, technology is not a cause. Western males are retreating from social interaction because it has been criminalised.

Men simply reject the current codified, state-overseen model of interaction with women as a losing proposition, whether explicitely (MGTOW) or implicitely (because even men are not that stupid).

About the same as Japanese men started doing a generation before.

The response has been predictable. Of course millennials don’t have sex, they’re far too busy catching Pokémon, or sharing selfies on Snapchat. But I don’t think this is a laughing matter. There has been so much hysterical handwringing about how damaged and deviant we would become as the first generation to grow up with porn in our pockets. Collectively we’re still very anxious about the “sexting epidemic”. Of course it’s worrying that children are pressing each other to send sexually explicit images, but I think the greatest tragedy is that the sex we manage to have rarely goes beyond a screen.

couldnt possibly have anything to do with the advent of the ~~third reich~~ i mean Third wave feminisim. the world constantly demonizing men, and working to destroy the notion of marrige and heterosexual couplings. nah. nothing like that.

Sorry why is it societies problem if people aren't having sex? Honestly if the cost to all of us in teenage pregnancy is going down then less sex seems like an eminently affordable price to pay.
