These "benefits" are not exactly so. Sure, the data shows that "men are more motivated to earn more" but that's because they have money-sucking kids. That 20% extra in pay is actually a negative including the "cost" of a family.

I had to start stepping up and taking care of them.

How is that a GOOD thing? I work hard to reduce the things that are dependent on me and eliminate things that I don't want to do. I get no value from caring for others... how could I? Caring for others means giving my resources to other people with nothing in return. That's a loss for me.

I work hard to minimize the things that I want and need, I work exactly as much as I need to fulfill those needs, and enjoy the rest of my time doing whatever I want.

Working yourself to death to climb a ladder so your wife can spend all your money on tchotchkes isn't a life.

Always have to take PragerU vids with a grain of salt. Some videos seem reasonable and logical but others just come off like forced politics, and this just feels like conservative "stop being a pansy and get married. Look how happy married men are and you can be that happy too!" rhetoric.

The guy talks mostly about externalities but don't understand it.

If you wanted to suggest that marriage is good for men, you should talk about why it makes their lives better, not how it helps the society or wives and children (who don't usually exist when a marriage is considered).
