Tonight my ex brought back the kids. I am the custodial parent and she sees them one night a week (sometimes). When she returned them she wanted me to do some things. She wanted me to find a doctor for a physical my daughter needed before some dental work.
Per our divorce it is her responsibility to provide all medical care and insurances. She recently decided to go to part time work and lost her insurance. I am in the process of getting medicaid as my job does not provide insurance.
So I told her that I would look in the internet to see if I could find a free clinic. At this point she started yelling at me. I was at my house and she was on the porch so I just walking into my house and shut the door. I will not have verbal conflicts with her. She suffers from bi-polar disorder and refuses to take meds.
I turned around to talk to the kids and she comes storming through my door and attacks me. She tries to tackle me and then proceeds to bite me and try to twist my fingers. I separated her from me and immediately called 911.
She then went really nuts. Storming around my house saying she was going to search my room for my daughters ear rings and a bunch of other stuff. When she started to calm down she realized she was in trouble and ran out the door to her boyfriends car while I was on the phone with 911. They sped away.
When the police arrived I recounted the incident to the police officer. HERE IS WHERE I WAS VICTIMIZED A SECOND TIME.
He asked me what I wanted him to do. I said that I need a record of this assault. He looked at me funny and said "what assault?" I was taken aback a little and replied the one I just told you about. He then asked "Do you need to go to the hosptial? Do you have any injuries?" I said no and then he said "what assault? You defended yourself and are not hurt"
So I asked him if I attacked him and tried to tackle him and bit him and scratched him would it be an assault. He said yes it would because your my same size and you could hurt me.
Finally another officer showed up and took over and handled it correctly.
Tell me? If the roles had been reversed what would have happened.
So right now she does have a warrant for her arrest for assault. I hope the judge forces her into a help group or something. At no point did I ever raise my voice or call her any names. I walked away. This also not the first time she has assaulted me, sometimes with weapons.
I feel bad for my kids but I was a lucky one and was able to get my kids in the divorce. My daughter is a bit sad, she is 7 but my son who is 10 said "That's Mama" and went out to play.
