The dude made a mistake going after her when she went to the doors. I can't really blame him, he must've been in primal mode after having her choke him. Its sad but if it wasn't for the video, the guy likely would've spent some time in jail for it.

After she stopped attack him and started to leave it was not longer self defense, it became Retaliation. Not saying I feel bad for her being hit for her actions, but from a legal stand point the guy was in the wrong.
