in the study, it is noted "Table I further shows that women reported perpetrating significantly more controlling behavior overall than men did. However, men and women reported that their partners used controlling behavior at a similar rate."
also noted in the study: men perpetrate violence against people besides their partner more than women do someone can correct me if I'm reading it wrong, but I believe Table 1 shows that both men and women perpetrated physical violence with nearly the exact same frequency.
main takeaway from this study appears to be that male control theory of IPV is incorrect, and a more violence-centric approach (rather than gender-centric) should be used.

many of the other available statistics show men are physically abused more equally to women, but it does not express the sex of the perpetrator. When considering the above point, it's fair to suggest that many men experience violence from other men.

Out of 22 homicides, 11 were by the mother and 10 were by father or male partner. There's an extra 1 left over, because 1 father killed 2 children in one case.

In summary, I do not think the title of this OP or the title of the article are justified based on the data from the sources of the article.

At best, we can say that women are more likely to be emotionally abusive and manipulative in relationships, while men are more likely to murder their partner etc.

I did not see any compelling data that simply suggests that women are more violent or controlling than men speaking generally. Most of the data this idea is based on is data from within the context of relationships, so "women are more violent and controlling than men in relationships" is a more fitting (but still questionable) title.

I will be interested to see if this study pops up on any more reputable sites.

I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't though, since it goes against the narrative that the media and pop culture is desperately trying to push right now.
