From the pictures it seems a much bigger woman used a weapon to hit a tiny little unarmed man who was wearing a stupid shirt. And from the description she was being loud and obnoxious while Mayweather's entourage was trying to ignore her.

How could anyone defend this woman?

If you actually read the article you'll realise it's a clickbait story and that Floyd was not involved at all. Bf of the woman got kicked out for what seems like harassment/aggression. Gf approaches kid in Floyds camp angry that her bf got kicked out. She allegedly says "you wanna hit me". Security try escort her out too, she turns around and hits dude with a "thunderstick" (whatever the fuck that is). Then he hits the bitch back. Then everyone on the internet with "a voice" blames mayweather, completely ignoring the evidence and the original perpetrator. Fuck people.

you know, it's still not cool to hit women.

sure, equality ... but when a woman hits a man it's irritating but there is little to no chance of injury. when a man (who is probably into boxing in some way) hits a woman hard on the jaw knocking her down the stairs that's not cool - potentially life changing injuries -.

if you're in a genuine self-defence situation up against a woman where you might reasonably be injured then fire away but remember you're 3 or 5 times stronger than her.

if it's just your ego that's in danger (as in this case), MAN UP and be the better person.
