They first listened to her story of lies (she claimed I was taking close ups of people in bikinis, and that she had asked me to stop flying before calling the police, and that I was the one that assaulted her, and and and). The police approached me very aggressively, believing her full story, and before anything else was said I brought up something that she missed… The fact that the cell phone in my hand has a camera…that was recording. I had video evidence that she went nuts completely unprovoked, and was the one that assaulted me. She was then charged with assault, and breach of peace and I gave the cops a copy of the video for their prosecution.

Typical. Both the woman lying and the cops believing her.

As someone who flies a UAV, I get complaints from random passers-by with the same issue - that I'm taking pictures/video - they don't physically attack me, though. I don't even have a camera on mine (yet).

Telling them that just makes them angrier at you for making them look stupid.

So I looked up the docket number (N23N-CR14-0148108-S) based on the defendant's last name in the Connecticut court records (Internet powers, amirite?). She had her day in court on July 9th, and was sentences to "Accelerated Rehabilitation".

The interesting thing is that AR is only usually given to Juveniles, DUI offenders, or drug/alcohol offenders. She may have to go to a meeting once a week or even less, but as long as she doesn't get caught doing anything illegal by her next court date of July 6th, 2016, she's completely off the hook.

Holy cow! I live in Guilford, the town that is right next to Madison, which is where Hammonassett State Park is located. This woman is absolutely nuts, people go down there to fly things like RC planes, helics, and quads all the time because it's open and there's a ton of beautiful scenery for photography and video capture. Also, because it's usually not too busy, it minimizes the risk of anyone getting hurt. It's so ironic that by flying is quad in the safest way he possibly could, he got in the most trouble by way of a crazy lady. Damn.

Perhaps the video starts after explained himself, so I didn't hear it. But it seems he could have at least tried to talk his way out of this by denying her accusations. Instead he remains quiet (creepy in her eyes) and keeps on filming. Had he told her what he was doing, shown her the video from the quad, as his mom would say, used his words, this might have been avoided.

The again, she's a psycho, so maybe not.
