For equality in reproduction we need 2 things.

Legal parental surrender. Women have the right to choose not to be a parent, men should have the same right.
Paternity test should be standard and required for fathers name on the birth certificate. Women will always know the baby is theirs, men should have the same right.

Edit: Maybe more contraceptive alternatives should have been on the list, but it is not really a rights/legal issue but a science/medical one.

It's a sick sad world where: men have shitty contraceptive options, men's post-conception options are all terrible and severely life-altering, child support awards are often punitive because they are scaled with income and can go well above what it costs to raise a child. You can't "outrun" child support and get ahead of the 8-ball by increasing your income because they will just increase the payments. The courts seem to operate under the assumption that if the payments aren't inflicting a hardship, then you aren't paying enough.

My mouth waters in anticipation of the day where men can protect themselves from "oops" pregnancies and contraceptive sabotage.

It's really more simple than that. Most of these 'unilateral' decisions are from people who can't afford a baby but want one anyway. The state refuses to pick up the tab. Unless adoptions could be forced for financial reasons (ultimately a horrifying state power that should not be granted) you can't get this freedom unless you get society as a whole to give a shit about individual men.

Lesson: don't sleep with people who don't have careers they care about.

Even in the case of sexual assault, no man should be forced to be a father. The woman still has the choice whether to be a mom, and so should the man. The assault is a separate matter from the creation of a life. (And frankly, do you want to force such a person to be a parent?)
