a convoluted, double-negative argument to prove that somehow this overt discrimination against men is somehow a reflection of cultural misogyny, that somehow, really, this is discrimination against women.

For 30-odd years, the only group actively talking about gender-identity issues were feminists, and they essentially held a monopoly on the subject. And a lot of strange, contrived, and sometimes outright absurd notions arose out of that monopoly, utterly unchecked by any contrary viewpoint.

So in her mind when a guy loses his job and/or his partner takes his kids away from him, or maybe he has no family and ends up homeless, or maybe he was falsely accused of a crime and became a pariah, then he kills himself is because someone somewhere wouldn't let him cry?... because that's what girls do?... because that "someone somewhere" hates women? It's a good example of AFALT - even when there's a serious issue to be discussed and dealt with it boils down to female victimhood. Not challenging the employment situation, not challenging custody trends and court rulings, not addressing domestic violence or abuse by women, no, just lip service and diversion. Men are seen as normal and disposable. Women are seen as special and, as such, valued more. Both genders face their own issues, but men's are swept under the carpet. When they are acknowledged, they're characterized as extensions of women's issues. It's depressing.

I guess women are the biggest misogynists because they're the ones who want men to be "manly", which is why you don't have gay men concerning themselves as much with policing each other's masculinity in a serious way. Straight men do it because they know that's how they succeed in sexual conquests.

Point is, if this is misogyny, and women are the ones who want it (want "real men" and not "sissies") for their own benefit (which they do), then patriarchy is the best way to minimize misogyny at the highest levels of society. Preferably gaytriarchy.
