Pre-nup survives wife's challenge, female journalist reports it as "man stiffs wife out of alimony and wins right to throw her out" --> Are you telling us that a contract isn't a contract when a woman signs it?

"Male suicide is on the rise. Here is how it negatively affects women."

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Women are the real victims of male suicide. They have to mop up the blood and stuff.

This is the most stupid thing i've read, ever.

Look at the graph. More men are living with their parents than women. More men have always lived at home, according to the graph. The numebr of both men and women living at home is on the rise, with more men living at home than women. Yet women are hit harder, only because the percentage of women living at home has reached what it was back in 1940, and the men's hasn't. This arbitrary fact, basically saying that because women have it as bad as they did back in 1940, somehow means women are hit harder. But men are only doing slightly better than they were in 1940, and the gender gap has lowered. you'd think this would be good? No. it's not true equality until the proportion of men to women living at home is as unequal as it was in 1940, which has the biggest gender dispairty, hitting men disproportionately hard compared to the rest of the graph.

This is incredily stupid. Men are hit harder, according the stats, but because the women's rate has reached some arbitrary number, it hits women harder. Bull fucking shit.

A men at his parent's home is a looser. A women is a poor dear that can't find the man she deserve to take care of her golden heart.

Bingo. Men have the expectation of performance. Men are held valued by their earning potential to the same extent women are valued by their appearance, but you don't hear us going around bitching about 'income shaming'

[–]baskandpurr[🍰] 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Actually, bitching about income shaming would be a good parody of feminism.

the shift has been especially pronounced for young women.

That article says that and then shows a graph which clearly shows that the female trend has always followed the male trend (but 10 points lower) and it continues to do so.

According to this article the rate of young people living at their parents home has gone up for both genders but its the women that we should be concerned about. Even though the number of males living at their parents has always been higher and continues to be higher, thats not a problem, only the women matter.

"Women today are five times as likely to be enrolled in college than in 1940"

"... and over half of these women are majoring in the absolute easiest majors possible and will graduate with completely worthless degrees there are no jobs for at all."

We need to always, always make sure to mention that part.

Maybe we should just start treating women equally and calling them losers, creeps, and basement dwellers. \s

[–]matthew_lane 3 points4 points5 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

We should also call them vagina-beards, since most of them cannot grow neck-beards.

[–]DillipFayKick 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I actually lol'd. Thanks!

Leg-beards

[–]Brodusgus 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Why is it mom's basement? Maybe they should stop living with daddy.

Its funny there is a homeless problem around here so they build a women's homeless shelter... nobody read or cared about the fact that most homeless people are men.

[–]baskandpurr[🍰] 5 points6 points7 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

The next step is to wonder why the shelter hasn't solved the homeless problem.

[–]matthew_lane 4 points5 points6 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The step after that is more government spending to build even more womens shelters.

[–]modernform 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I suppose it's difficult to find a job with your gender studies degree

[–]ugly_duck 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Umm, according to the article, the men's record is 47.5%. 42.8<47.5.

[–]Demius93 3 points4 points5 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Clearly this means men are being hired preferential over women. We should institute stronger policies which encourage women to be hired. /s

Right, if those bums would just get out of their parents' basements and start earning a living, they could start supporting those poor women who would no longer be forced to stay at home.

"Young Women Are Living at Parents' Home" Is that new?
That's been around forever. Whatever the feminists can complain about. Annoying feminists.

Tell the lazy women to get off their asses, get jobs and move the fuck out.

[–]cmumford 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm actually OK with this story. The author states:

The data tell a similar story for young men. Last year 42.8% of men lived at home—higher than women, but not at its 1940 peak, when 47.5% of them lived at home.

Women were just the first to return back over that 1940 threshold - men aren't yet there. At least that was my take away.
