This might be the first time I've seen the word "rape" used in the media when a woman is convicted of having sex with a child. The fact that men were involved just might have something to do with that.

Or it could be that the victims were all under the age of 13, so the "inappropriate romance" angle can't be used here. I wonder if she'll receive a lighter sentence than the men... if there was ever a case where she should be receive equal treatment to a man, this should be it.

I wouldn't tout this case as evidence of anything to do with the current gender war. It smells an awful lot like the Satanic Ritual Abuse witchhunts of the 80's/90's.

As far as I have been able to gather from news stories, the evidence against the adults is all testimony of children coaxed from them by social workers. If that doesn't set off an alarm bell, the outlandishness of some of the claims should - card parties?

There is a men's issue angle to this, as you note. This stuff is almost universally anti-male boogieman stuff and it is unusual for a woman to be pointed to as the ringleader.

I am deeply suspicious of these convictions. Even those aquitted will suffer, and those convicted will likely spend many years behind bars in protective custody.

False Memory Syndrome is a real thing.
