Longer sentences for people who abuse kids online. Who could argue with that? However, this is a perfect illustration of the way modern 'centre-ground' politicians deal with criminal justice. They just tinker at the edges. A Tory government that promises longer sentences for criminals is like a banker making money - totally predictable and to be expected. My problem is that whilst the government goes after the 'low-hanging fruit' in their quest to look like they care about the victims of crime, they are totally and willfully ignoring the elephant in the room - women who abuse and rape men and boys.

As we know, under English and Welsh law, only a person with a penis can rape another person. A man who has sex with a drunken woman should be no different to a woman who has sex with a drunken man. A female teacher having sex with a school boy should be dealt in the same way as a male teacher having sex with a school girl. Having a penis or not having one shouldn't be an issue. Sadly it is.

It is early days for this new government, but all the signs are pointing to 'business as usual'. No doubt it won't be long before the Crown Prosecution Service comes out with more guidelines on how men should be treating women before, during and after sex. We can no longer rely on liberals to demand the government gets the hell out of our private relationships. These days they are demanding the government gets involved and the earlier the better. We will soon have school lessons teaching boys how to conduct healthy sexual relationships.

I have recently been challenged to prove that women do actually rape men. You don't need a penis to commit rape. If we are to demand men get legal consent from women then surely it is the human right of every man to expect women to get legal consent from us and when they don't the police should be ready to step-in. Can't see that happening anytime soon.
