All you have to do is call the police and say you don't feel safe and you'll generally get a ride home. You don't have to report a crime, just say that you're afraid of one. The fact that she went that far instead of just thinking like a logical, empathetic human being is absurd.

If I was held in custody for a false allegation and I did not think the person had been punished appropriately by the courts I would certainly want to retaliate. I can understand why men take the law into their own hands to retaliate brutally against women who make false accusations. It may not be right but when a group is not protected by the courts and justice system and there is discrimination law and order breaks down. Society and the legal system are to blame. You cannot have so many women making false allegations and then not punish them appropriately.

But if they punish her think of all the other women who might not be believed and will have to pay for their own ride home.
