Men spend more time with free weights, women spend more time in the hamster wheel. Are a few "women only" bikes and rowers really that big of a deal? And if it is, vote with your wallet.

I get your point, and I'm with you on the message. I can also see why this gym would do this: they want to provide the product that each gender wants the most.

Men, typically, want dumbells, free weights, machines, treadmills, etc.

Women want stairmasters, treadmills, elipticals, and other stupid machines that waste your time and give you minimal results. And many want to use them in women-only environments.

Capitalism.

That being said, I think you need to take off the victim goggles - there's nothing wrong with this because it clearly states "still" - which means that both gyms are equipped with what it considers to be "top of the line" equipment. If women need a separate space to work out, that's fine as long as both genders pay the same price - sometimes they need a bit of privacy since workouts probably don't put either gender in the most flattering of body positions. Or they could have problems with hygiene products on heavy days, rip their tights, etc.

No it doesn't. If you look at the description for the main gym room, they describe that they have high-end equipment. The women's room, despite being an off-shoot facilities, still has high-end equipment.

Of course, they only have 1-10kg dumbbells as freeweights, and a bunch of rowing machines. Ethically, I am against this kind of segregation and think women who can't deal with working out around men need to buy a home gym, but I can see why a business would do this.
