Jon Stewart initially seems on the side of truth, calling Rolling Stone to task for its bad reporting and lack of consequences for the people who did the bad reporting.

But then his veiled intent becomes clear:

"Campus rape happens with shocking frequency"

"A very real under-reported problem"

"Many college and university administrations have met with a lack of concern and stone-walling"

"Victims need help and support yet somehow in a SEA of verifiable assaults..."

"You manage to Where's Waldo the ONLY rape story"

"that not only will fail to get your point across but will set the cause back"

Any false rape allegation would fail to get the point across and would set the cause back by presenting it as the face of rape accusations.

Therefore by saying it is the 'only' rape story which could do this, Jon Stewart is in effect claiming that all other assaults have been verified, that this is the sole story which is fake.

This guy is a fucking tool. He is the greasiest little shit. The more I catch on to this the harder it becomes to laugh at him. I gave him and Colbert 2nd chances after Jon's Japan-bashing and Stephen's Anita interview and he just ups himself in snakelike pandering.
