Didn't she say she was gang raped at a frat party, on an occasion when no such party took place? I mean, how much "artistic freedom" or lies does she get to tell?

Maybe they didn't see the coverage by rolling Stone of Jackie's alleged rape. People certainly believed her. However the words "trust, but verify" come to mind when you publicly accuse someone as Rolling Stone did. The analysis of the article was great IMO. Specifically:

Because questioning a victim's account can be traumatic, counselors have cautioned journalists to allow survivors some control over their own stories. This is good advice. Yet it does survivors no good if reporters documenting their cases avoid rigorous practices of verification. That may only subject the victim to greater scrutiny and skepticism.

Was Jakie raped? I don't know. Maybe she was, but obviously not as she claimed. Maybe she wasn't. Maybe she has a mental problem. I think we can all agree that what ever did or didn't happen that resulted in this chain of events, Jackie needs serious help.

Doesn't mean she was raped by a man either, but I'm sure that's the one detail Valenti believes is important.

It also doesn't prove that she isn't a lizard-person and an agent of Lord Xenu... but there's no evidence for that either.

The accusation was in and of itself false. It was a rape hoax. So even if in a snowball's chance in hell she actually was raped, that still doesn't change the fact that she's a rape hoaxer.
