Laws favouring women?

I'm surprised nobody's said it yet, but a huge one in the U.S. is the draft. Men are unable to vote, work for the government, or receive government aid without being registered for the chance to be forced to fight and die in war. Women have no such requirement.

There's no real justification for having a draft for only one gender, and the fact that this keeps flying under the radar whenever people discuss gender equality is incredible.

In most cases laws are gender-neutral, and it's only the interpretation of the laws that's biased.

Some laws are technically gender-neutral but worded in a way that heavily implies only one sex can be guilty (ie rape being defined as penetration isn't quite specifying men as the only perpetrators, but it's close).

The only law I can think of that is specifically not gender neutral is selective service.

Genital mutilation is the most obvious sexist application of law. All western countries completely protect a baby girl's genitals from even a pin-prick, whereas not a single one offers any protection to the most sensitive and intimate part of a male child. Worse still, some countries (or at least parts of them) then go on to take money from taxypayers and then use it to fund the genital mutilation of these innocent children.

There is a lot of data out there on sentencing bias in favour of female defendents, but that is quite a different thing from the straight-up legal discrimination detailed in the above link. In the UK, there is also a long-standing campaign to abolish women's prisons (at least for all but dangerous, violent offenders).

Women have higher health care costs.
Men drive more.
It's illegal to discriminate by gender in health insurance premiums.
It's not illegal to discriminate by gender in car insurance premiums.

This selective protection under the law is one of the most glaring examples of women-biased legislation.

It's not so much that the text of the laws favor women - barring reproductive laws - but rather the reality of the unequal application of those laws.

Not laws,but the policy that "women should get 50% representation in a company even if they are less qualified than men". Alot of big companies are pushing this,such as Intel

In the UK a woman can't rape a man, I think that's the only one I know. The bigger problem though, is the horrendously unequal sentencing and incarceration between men and women for the same crimes

I liken the law to a cutting blade..It's the same no matter what it tries to cut into..This superficial appears fair but it's not because everyone is not the same and men and women are different. A cutting blade designed to cut stone doesn't work worth shit on wood and a wood cutting blade will get torn apart trying to cut stone..Because men and women are different in behavior the law adversely effect's men more than women.

One example, men are more active in seeking sex. They make the majority of first moves I assert that this is a reflection of biology more than social conditioning..By being the initiators men are inherently more exposed to the consequences of making a mistake of being to aggressive.
