This guy is doing way more to promote men's issues then anyone posting here. He's drawn a big target on his back to draw real attention to the many massive real men's issues. He's actually doing something not just posting memes and links on reddit. Good for him. We should all support him.

I like Buchanan, I like what he is doing and I think he does it well. I am worried that this takes a traditionalist bent though, talk about the nuclear family and stuff.

That being said if this party is available in my constituency it will get y vote.

I think the "Feminists hate men" meme is overly-simplistic, and is an analog of the absurd "they hate us for our freedom" rhetoric that proliferated after 9/11.

i don't really think this sort of stance really helps advance the cause. the statement "feminists hate men" is about as fair as the statement "MRAs hate women." some do, but that's the movement at its worst, and it's capable of so much more. some feminists surely do hate men, and we should be steadfast in our opposition to those that do, but it's not fair to paint all of them with the same brush, and the rhetorical hoops you have to jump through to justify as statement like that are basically equivalent to the "schrodinger's rapist" line of thinking we so rightly condemn.

i'm not in favour of an anti-femninist men's rights movement. i think we should definately be critical of feminism, and take it on headfirst when it's promoting bad ideas, but most feminists, like most MRAs, are genuinely hoping for true gender equality, and if we recognize that, we have a better chance of actually achieving our goals.

I think it's more accurate to say that feminists use men. And not just feminists either. Chief among the users are male politicians, grasping for approval, not caring how they get it.

It's a good ideal, but they just won't win any seats. The big issues of British politics at the moment are the NHS, Immigration, and of course, the economy, gender issues don't get a look-in on any level of government in Britain, be it local, or up to European level.

Buchanan believes that men are perceived as having no value beyond financial. "We have no worth beyond our value to others," he said, "whereas women are born with worth, they grow up knowing they’re valuable. Women don’t get this, that men just have no worth as human beings except in how they support women and children."

Has anyone here read Simone de Beauvoir? Do you see the similarity here?

Women are human beings, men are human doings. But for de Beauvoir that was just the problem. Men have agency. Women are immanent objects. They exist in themselves. Men exist for themselves.

Did I get that right? It's been a long time.

While there's a need for justice for men and boys, having a party named solely for that merely perpetuates the same sexism that feminism does.
