It started with exposition of key Hollywood creepers being exposed for being fat undesirable fucks who still got laid like kings because they abused their power differential over other lesser mortals in the entertainment industry.

This then evolved into an outpouring of emotional Twitter posts from around the world of other people in different fields who felt like they were raped OR sexually assaulted OR some lesser crime and never got to tell their story. Everybody cried, everyone gets believed, everybody gets their victim points.

Then it got fucking scary. People started getting disemployed just because of random tweets or “field reports” on feminist blogs talking about their experiences. Many of these were not rape. They were sexual discomfort. Apparently now masturbating in front of consenting women in a hotel room is now considered assault, as is trying to fuck a girl who comes back to your apartment and sucks your dick twice.

Real rape is fucked up, and everyone can agree on that. Abusing your power differential to get women to fuck you used to be widespread, but clearly that shit will bite you in the ass now (and hopefully if you are reading this, you have realized that you don’t want to be that shithead, the key is to become a fit badass motherfucker that every girl wants to jump on top of). Nobody knows how this will end, but there is a real conversation happening that is shaping the way makes and females will interact in the workplace forever. It is in your best interest to pay attention.

Some celebrity women made heartfelt descriptions about how some celebrity men abused them.
Their heartfelt descriptions defined new forms of "unacceptable behaviors" from men. Lots of women said "hey this happened to me too".
Some other women tried and made some heartfelt descriptions of how they were treated in what they thought was "unacceptable ways" by men. The trend caught.
Society learned that a heartfelt description of something that made a woman feel bad is a powerful tool to condemn a man, the "crime" lies in making the woman feel bad, and we're currently debating what should be done about it.

In penal law, the idea that an action's unpredictable consequences serves as measure for right, wrong and punishment is abhorred, the reasons for it have been debated for centuries but they're known now. When it comes to internet and women's feelings, on the other hand, we kind of forget the core of the issue and debate the same crap all over again.

It's to raise awareness of sexual assault/sexual violence. One day there was a movement to post #metoo if you were also a victim of sexual assault.

I believe it started with the Weinstein scandal where people would post on twitter that they were raped and it soon (like that day) became an in-style thing to do and people were accused of "raping" girls by flirting and other non-rape stuff.

Attention seeking, validation seeking, virtue-signalling.

Women have a perpetual victim instinct.

It's at the point now where a woman needs a rape story to feel attractive. No girl is going to stand up and say "well actually I wasn't sexually harassed at work", that would make her feel unattractive and all the other women would jump on her for going against the victim-narrative.

They band together and support each other, facts be damned.

Obviously some of it is true. But most of it is now bullshit, and as with the recent public rape accusations most of it will turn out to be lies. But there will be no consequences of this, and public policy will be decided on it even though it's not true.

Fat hollywood producers who would never get laid were it not for the money and position (power) they have, leveraged their positions and power to "force" women who wanted certain roles to have sex with them or otherwise grant sexual favors in exchange for said roles.

This is the fundamental basis for sexual harassment in any work place: quid pro quo.

Now, on the surface, this seems to be wrong, but it gets watery once you see that I put quotes around forced.

These women agreed to the exchange of sex for roles that was offered to them when they were in their twenties. One of the most notable examples was Weinstein v. Ashley Judd.

Ashley Judd was a household name in the mid to late nineties and early 2000's. She had many roles and was well known and she was pretty fucking hot. Weinstein, and others, leveraged power for her sex in exchange for roles and she agreed every time.

Then the unfortunate Judd genetics kicked in and she was no longer desirable, producers didn't make her the same offers as before, and I imagine she decided to come forward with her "complaints" when she was rebuffed one too many times.

She, at this point, felt she had amassed enough savings and "star power" and was probably getting enough residuals and royalties from things pas that she could gamble... so she did, and she came forward and said blah blah blah sexual harassment blah blah blah casting couch blah blah blah (forget I did it 20 times.) She wouldn't dare do this 15 years ago when she was still pretty and bangable.

But now she's old, not hot, knows it, and since she realizes she isn't getting the roles she wanted any more and that the only way she got them before was because tits and ass (Judd was never a great actress to begin with) she might as well go for broke: her age and lack of beauty has blacklisted her anyways, so she can't be more blacklisted.

She gambled and won (sort of;) her attempt brough to light several other women who were treated like her. Basically, formerly hot and pretty, but now post-wall, women who weren't that great at acting complained that they were also harassed. "Harassed" in this context means they once accept sex for roles but are no longer receiving those offers.

My personal opinion: The offers weren't being made, so they attempted to offer the sex on their own only to be rebuffed by the likes of Weinstein. Then, the now-scorned women, insulted that they were rebuffed by the likes of that fat ugly piece of shit, decided he should pay.

So the snowball rolled: movie producers, tv producers, tv hosts, CEOs, politicians, vice-presidents in companies, middle management, lower management, etc. And as the snowball rolled downhill with these complaints about ever diminishing position of power and the men that hold them, so did the legitimacy of those complaints: basically the store manager at a Kohl's doesn't have much power to exchange for sex... so the complaints became, he said I was dressed nice, or, he asked me out on a date and when I said no, I was fired... except she was fired months later and it was because she was constantly late (not a real example, but a parable to paint the picture.)

It all came to head, more or less, around the time that a woman had an unfortunate date with Asis Anzari. And by "came to a head" I mean lost it's steam, and by "unfortunate" I mean, had a bad date with a short, goofy Indian dude; she claimed he ended the date when she wouldn't have sex with him. she offered a BJ instead, he initially agreed, but then decided "no" (yes, he can also rescind his consent at anytime... thanks feminists), ended the BJ, watched TV for a bit, then called her an Uber or took her home one way or another.

She then did an Interview with some garbage "news" site like Buzzfeed or something where she anonymously calls him out as a sexual assaulter, harasser, and used #metoo as her ammunition. She was dragged over the coals for that one: she had a bad date and used #metoo to justify her shitty behavior after the fact (and never mentioned her name.) After that, plus Weinstein's fading name in the media, caused the #metoo thing to quiet and die.

Here's the problem with #metoo:

The women complaining on the hollywood level are complaining, sometimes, decades after the fact. IN the case of Weinstein, some were very recent, others were past the statute of limitations. For most, there were very few, if any, actual crimes being committed.
It seemed to be the logical continuation of the recent *accuse a guy of rape whether he did or not, and saunter off regardless of the outcome, only now it wasn't just CC-riding college girls with regrets, it was women in the public eye making accusations: the system tested the waters with college kids and then went tot he big leagues with #metoo.
The women in hollywood made claims of assault years after willingly accepting any and all roles; they claim a crime was committed, but never went to the police. They claim a crime was committed, but instead of taking the moral high ground and reporting the problems, they took advantage of the prizes and rode the wave as long as they could... until they coluldn't: they sold sex for services and complained when nobody wanted the goods anymore.

Except for a few cases of actual sexual assault, most of these women willingly consented to, and accepted, the terms of the sexual encounter.
