In fact most women were opposed to giving women the right to vote up until the early 20th century. So basically the men in Congress gave women the vote as soon as the majority of women decided they wanted a vote.

From what i read women were offered the same deal men had. The right to vote in exchange for the draft.

They said no thanks until the draft part was cut out then they accepted it. They really didn't have to fight for it, if anything all they did was refuse till the terms were to their liking.
